County suit questions tribes historic presence
In an article in the Sunday edition of the Sacramento Bee, David Whitney writes about Amador County’s efforts to keep a tribal casino from being built near Lake Camanche. The small strip of land, about 200 yards wide and a mile long, off of Coal Mine Road is not historic tribal land claims the county.

Amador County budget now available on county Web site
Yesterday afternoon, County Auditor E. Joe Lowe announced the 2007/2008 Amador County Final Budget has been posted to the County’s website. The budget is available for viewing through a link that can be accessed on the Board of Supervisors, the County Administration or the Auditor’s homepages.

Amador and Calaveras Counties battle for right to be featured on KCRA

The latest results of the KCRA High School Playbook Game of the Week voting has Bret Harte vs. Calaveras slightly ahead of Amador vs. Argonaut by a count of 101,798 (45%) to 101,503 (45%) with five other games splitting the remaining 10%. Vote count is constantly changing.
